Spearheading the festivities, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur presents a specially curated campaign themed Inilah Kita, reflecting the spirit of Merdeka through a tribute to the people. The campaign celebrates shared stories, cultural pride, and unity in honour of Malaysia’s National Day. In collaboration with the Ministry of National Unity, the festivities officially commenced with a spectacular launch at the Main Entrance, featuring a stellar lineup of multiracial personalities and cultural performances. Throughout the festive period, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is adorned with festive flags surrounding the iconic Pavilion Crystal Fountain.

Symbolising the spirit of Inilah Kita, Izzati Suza, Riynn Lee and Karthine Maniam co-created Seni Persahabatan (Art of Friendship), a collaborative artwork embodying Malaysia’s multicultural tapestry. The mural will be displayed at the Banyan Tree Link Bridge until 16 September 2025.

Drawing an impressive crowd of over 11,000 fans and moviegoers, Pavilion KL recently illuminated with star power as it hosted the exclusive Gala Premiere of "Pavane For An Infant" at its Level 3, Main Entrance. Directed by award-winning Malaysian filmmaker Chong Keat Aun, the drama follows the heartfelt stories within a baby hatch centre in Kuala Lumpur, highlighting the tireless dedication of social workers and staff as they receive and care for newborns.

The red carpet spectacle added cinematic glamour to the evening, marking it one of the mall’s most memorable events to date. Malaysia also served as the only Southeast Asian stop on the film’s promotional tour, making the occasion even more significant. Fans were treated to special appearances by Hong Kong-based Malaysian actress Fish Liew, Taiwanese actress Natalie Hsu, and Chong Keat Aun himself, who warmly engaged with supporters throughout the event.

The celebration continues with the highly anticipated Hello Inilah Kita showcase on 23-24 August 2025 at the Level 3, Main Entrance. This two-day star-studded event will feature beloved celebrity personalities from all races, cultural performances, and exclusive previews of locally produced entertainment programming. Confirmed appearances include Misha Omar, Merqeen, Jaclyn Victor, and Shila Amzah, along with special guests Hong Kong actors Lai Lok-Yi and Ali Lee. Expect a vibrant mix of music, culture, and entertainment reflecting Malaysia’s unity and creative spirit.

Shoppers can participate in the patriotic spirit while enjoying exclusive rewards from now until Sunday, 31 August 2025. Customers spending RM500 in a single receipt will receive an exclusive Pavilion Crystal Fountain Coaster Set, while those spending RM1,000 in a single receipt can take home an exclusive Pavilion KL Tin featuring a beautiful scarf by Buttonscarves - perfect mementoes to commemorate Malaysia’s independence celebrations.

Extending the patriotic spirit and embracing Malaysia’s 68th National Day, Pavilion Bukit Jalil proudly presents its Merdeka campaign Together. We Celebrate — a vibrant showcase of fitness, unity, and creativity running until Tuesday, 16 September 2025.

In collaboration with Anytime Fitness, Pavilion Bukit Jalil transforms into a wellness playground with free fitness classes running until Sunday, 14 September 2025. This complimentary  event invites everyone to join in and move as one.

Adding to the active atmosphere is the Li-Ning Sports Day, taking place from 26-31 August 2025 at Level 2, Pink Zone. Visitors can enjoy a unique opportunity to play pickleball in the heart of the mall, with courts available for RM30 per hour, inclusive of two paddles and a ball (RM100 refundable deposit required, payable at the Li-Ning store located at Level 4, Orange Zone). As part of the celebration, Pavilion Bukit Jalil will host a special Meet & Greet with Li-Ning Ambassadors on Saturday, 30 August 2025, featuring national badminton icons Tan Boon Heong, Ong Yew Sin, Teo Ee Yi, Obstacle Course Racing athlete Mat Redho, and basketball players Kylie Hiew, Joshua Gan, Ting Chun Hong, and Heng Yee Tong.

Capping off the fitness-themed festivities is the complimentary 5KM Merdeka Fun Run in collaboration with ANTA and LAC on Saturday, 30 August 2025, starting at 8.00am at PIAZZA Street. This family-friendly event invites fitness enthusiasts to run in the name of unity, celebrating Malaysia’s Merdeka in stride. Each registered runner will receive exclusive merchandise worth RM80. Continuing the celebration of Malaysia’s rich cultural identity, Pavilion Bukit Jalil presents Tinta Merdeka, a fashion-art and cultural installation created by students of UCSI Group, with support from Truley Bateq, Chery and KB Colour Image.

From 27 August to 1 September 2025, the Spanish Steps at Centre Court will host an exhibition featuring 16 fashion-art pieces crafted from Malaysian batik textiles, each celebrating the unique identity and spirit of Malaysia’s states and federal territories. The Centre Court will come alive as a vibrant celebration space, showcasing batik-wrapped Chery show cars, hands-on batik painting workshops, Merdeka-themed colouring activities for children, and a local food-inspired handicraft booth. Visitors can also admire iconic art displays, join interactive games such as Tic! Tic! Bomb!!!, Smack Deck, and Nab in the Dark, enjoy artist sharing sessions by DuDu, and discover sustainable creativity at the zero-waste frame booth by KB Colour / AniKertas x Posterlite.

As part of the celebrations, Pavilion Privileges members can enjoy exclusive rewards and activities throughout the month of August. A total of 1,000 movie tickets are up for grabs – simply spend RM800 or more in a single receipt to receive a pair. On Tuesday, 23 August 2025, members can participate in the Merdeka Art Collage in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), creating a special Merdeka masterpiece using creative and recycled materials. From 30–31 August 2025, members are invited to enjoy Merdeka Ice Skating at Blue Ice Snow Park, where 100 Malaysian flags will be distributed to participating skaters.

These vibrant activities offer families the opportunity to experience Malaysia’s unity in diversity through art, culture, and community engagement, inviting everyone to commemorate Merdeka meaningfully through movement, creativity, and togetherness.

Adding its own flavour to the national celebrations, Intermark Mall joins the Pavilion REIT family with a sensorial, heartwarming campaign titled Serasa Merdeka. Running throughout the Merdeka period until Sunday, 7 September 2025, the campaign spotlights Malaysia’s vibrant culinary and cultural heritage, celebrating unity through food, fashion and art.

Stalls with Malaysian Favourites

At the recent launch, the Serasa Merdeka campaign featured performances of Negaraku and Rasa Sayang Eh! by students from Primrose Hill International School, who donned traditional costumes embodying Malaysia’s diverse identities. This was followed by a fashion showcase and tour of the “Heritage in Motion” collection - a mentorship programme between INTI Centre of Art & Design (ICAD) and Carven Ong of Carven Ong Couture. The student-designed pieces creatively blended Malay, Chinese, Indian, and East Malaysian motifs into a unified cultural narrative.

Anchored by the belief that “food is a unifying factor,” the campaign offers visitors daily Tastebud Teasers - complimentary servings of local favourites from 11.30am to 1.00pm with a minimum spend of RM15, alongside weekly rewards including complimentary express coffee and food redemptions. The aim is to evoke nostalgia and the muhibbah spirit, reminding Malaysians that despite our differences, we are bonded by shared flavours and traditions.
