A Japanese and Australian Epicurean Affair by Meat & Livestock Australia

Masterclass on Sushi Making with Aussie Beef and Lamb  in conjunction with #DinewithChef Cash Fong promotion at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

Australia’s finest halal beef and lamb are the result of lush green pastures, fresh air, sunshine and clean water. Aussie beef is always the superior choice, with its range of textures, tenderness, flavour profiles and eating quality. Its huge range includes high-quality grassfed, grainfed, organic and breed-specific beef products such as Wagyu, Hereford and Angus. Aussie lamb is top-grade, delicious and a healthy protein source too.

Halal Aussie beef and lamb are so fresh, flavourful and versatile that they fit right into Japanese sushi making. After all good sushi does not always have to be with seafood. Sushi made with Aussie Wagyu, Hereford and Angus beef, for instance, would push it up several notches in taste and texture. Little wonder that sushi with these breed-specific beef is becoming a trend.

ABURI MAKI
Avocado, Ohba Leaf, Kyuri and Miso Dressing

Gyu Tataki
Quail Egg, Cherry Tomato, Ice Plant, Ponzu Sauce

Lamb in Sushi is really unheard of and actually lends another exciting flavour dimension to sushi and onigiri. Aussie lamb is a healthy protein choice.

Aussie Grassfed beef is said to have a robust, earthy flavour and excellent texture. As a natural wholesome food, grassfed beef is seen as a vital component to a healthy diet, being naturally low in fat and cholesterol. It contains 12 essential nutrients required for good health, including Iron, Zinc, Omega-3 and B vitamins.

Grainfed Aussie beef including Aussie Wagyu beef comes from cattle that have been fed a nutritionally balanced, high energy finished rations for a specific period. This results in enhanced marbling, with improved tenderness, juiciness and flavour.

Aussie lamb, raised predominantly on pastures, produces nutritious lean meat which contains the same 12 essential nutrients as Aussie beef.
