Thai-In Mookata being awarded Thai Select Certification by Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion

I just got a taste of Thai Hospitality at at Thai-In Mookata.  

A visit to Thai-In Mookata at Setapak left me in amazement with their variety of food and I got to experience Thai hospitality at its best!

The Thai-In Mookata outlet at Setapak, located at 3, Jalan 14/27b, Desa Setapak, 53300 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

Thai-In Mookata has just been awarded the Thai Select certification by Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion. 

It certifies the food, hospitality and atmosphere of restaurants, ensuring the preparation of an authentic Thai experience. 

Among those present are Thai-In Mookata's founder, Mr. Chainarong Kiratiyutawong, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, Minister Council and Director of the Thailand Department of International Trade Promotion, Mr Worawan Wanwil and representatives from the office of Commercial Affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy.

What is Thai SELECT? 

Thai SELECT is a certification awarded by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion. It certifies the food, hospitality and atmosphere of restaurants, ensuring the preparation of an authentic Thai experience. Whenever you travel, finding the Thai SELECT stamp of approval assures you that delicious Thai cuisine is served in a pleasant environment and charming hospitality – the full journey into the Thai culture. There are strict guidelines to be followed to be recognized by Thai SELECT, and there are four categories of certification: Signature, Classic, Casual and Unique. Thai SELECT Signature is granted to restaurants that serve authentic Thai food with a taste of premium quality, refined decoration and excellent service, while Thai SELECT Classic is awarded to Thai Restaurants of excellent quality. Restaurants with Thai SELECT Casual offer good quality Thai food, but have limited services, while Thai SELECT Unique restaurants are for selected restaurants within Thailand that offer local specialties. There is also Thai SELECT Products, which are Thai food products made the traditional way.

My Dining Experience at Thai-In Mookata, Setapak

I love the outdoor dining ambience! I have always loved dining in the outdoors where the ventilation is better and the air is breezier. Love the casual dining area which once was full of overgrown trees, according to Lim, the founder of Thai-In Mookata. It has now been transformed into a beautiful outdoor dining space.

It was my very first visit to Thai-In Mookata and I had the privilege to sink my teeth in some of their freshest seafood ingredients. 

My favourite is this fish meat below. Firm and fresh.

The variety of ingredients is just amazing. Here is a showcase of a variety of fresh seafood, meat and vegetables.

To make things easier, Thai-In Mookata also offers 2 different sets to cater to a different number of people.

SET A - caters to 2-3 pax

SET B- caters to 4-5 pax

When you are here, don't forget to try the Apple Plum juice which is a great thirst quencher with a twist of sourness with an appetizing assam boi.

You simply don't wanna miss the Thai Ice Tea either. Milky and smooth. It's one of my favourite whenever I dine at a Thai restaurant.

These two cups I had are LARGE RM8.80 each.

Now this is the unique pot with charcoal at the bottom to heat things up. 

You get the best of both worlds, the soup and the grill part! 

I had fun grilling the marinated meat and it's so satisfying to see them cook right before your eyes and having it hot and fresh as you take a bite into the piece of juicy and tender cooked marinated meat.

There are two variety of soup available, Pork Bone Broth and Tom Yum.

I tried the Tom Yum and it was full of flavour.
