Good Eats at Restaurant Double Seven, Kepong
If you are on the hunt for a variety of good eats at Kepong area, look no further. Kepong has always been known for good food. I go to a specific area in Kepong for different food selection, like Menjalara is known for steamboats, Kepong Baru for tong shui.
And recently I just discovered this pretty far from my home Kopitiam at Taman Sri Bintang area, an area I would not really have discovered if I have not come to this area to do my hair last October. I was amazed by the amount of good food here. A must try here is the Ikan Bakar stall and a porridge stall. The porridge stall serves rather fine porridge with things like pumpkin porridge, seaweed porridge which I find rather unique. I remember buying for my mom to try last year and had some as well. It was really smooth! Last night me and my dad tried the Basil Rice from the Thai Food Stall. Pretty good I must say. We were spoilt for choice. Rows and rows of stalls with a variety of food which stretches across 3 - 4 shop lots had us walking back and forth deciding what to eat.
One of my favourite stalls here is the Ikan Bakar stall. The rempah and sambal they use is super nice! Although waiting time was a bit long, it's still worth the wait. I have tried their Ikan Pari previously and this round I had 2 Ikan Kampung (RM20)Well hello there, Pork Satay!
I didn't get to try this yet but Pork Satay is nit a common sight at Kopitiams. I remember having pork satay only when I travel to Ipoh.
I had the carrot cake here, priced reasonably at RM 6 only. This stall also has Fried Oyster (Largest plate was RM18). Did not get to try that here so I won't be commenting. I will definitely come back for more. As there were only 2 of us, there was only so much we could try and eat.
