My Birthday Celebration at Baan Thai 2

Sawadika สวัสดี ครับ/ค่ะ

Last month I celebrated my Birthday with a scrumptious dinner at Baan Thai 2. I wrote about Baan Thai 2 when I first visited this authentic Thai restaurant during Mom's Birthday celebration last year. Read about my very first experience here.

Baan Thai 2 Seafood Restaurant is located at:
Lot pt 15288 A, Jalan Kuchai Lama, 58200 Kuala Lumpur
(It's just next to Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Setia)

A super spacious and well decorated ambience greets you as you enter this restaurant. Smacked right in the middle of the restaurant is a man-made mini water feature flowing inwards (for feng shui purposes) and with plenty of koi fish. Talk about wealth and lots of good luck!

The restaurant is packed during dinner, every time. So it's best to make your reservations before hand. The crowd usually peaks between 7pm - 9.30pm

Can you believe it? This place opens up to 5am! Their operation hours is from 12noon till 5am. Now you know where to go during odd hours when in search of good food. This was the scene close to 11pm where most of the dinner crowd have already dispersed.
Today I am going to share my experience dining in the largest VIP Room at Baan Thai 2, the VIP Room No. 9. Let's join me for a cullinary adventure in this cosy room with lots of syiok facilities. This room can accommodate up to 40 pax with 2 huge tables.
Ahhhhhhh can you spot the pool table over there?

You can entertain your guests and keep them busy with a game of pool while dining at the comfort of your private haven.

And the best part is this room comes with a Karaoke facility!!! Wohooo you can sing your hearts out! The song choices are aplenty and very up to date and the system is easy to use. The sound system is superb with a surround sound. I know when I start singing! Karaoke kaki here! So you can imagine my joy when they have this KTV facility here. Me and my girlfriends had so much fun singing together. Mom, dad and my aunt enjoyed listening to the evergreen songs I picked for them from The Platters to The Carpenters. Ahhhhh the song of their era and these olden oldies bring back memories to them. I can clearly see they enjoy the music and the awesome sound system.

FUYUH! Can sing K until the tail end of the room and the sound system is just as loud and clear!
Booking for this room is on a first come first served basis, preferably at least 2 weeks ahead and is made available to you with a minimum RM800 spend. It's a pretty impressive room I must say. I was blown away immediately when I stepped in. Here is a glance on both angles.

The room is fitted with wood material and its design exudes such a warm and cosy feeling. There is even a comfortable couch and a mini bar table for you to hang around and chill.
Mom and I seating comfortably on the sofa.

So besides the VIP Room No. 9, I also caught a glimpse and visited the other VIP rooms. Come let me bring you on a tour!

VIP room No. 8 is gorgeous! The space is transformed into a Tatami-like dining ambience. Super cantik!

VIP Room No 8, The Tatami room can  fit up to a maximum of 14 pax. It is open for bookings with a minimum spending of RM600. Great for a small group possibly entertaining their clients with style.

VIP Room No.1 to 6 is open for bookings for those in smaller groups and looking for some privacy. Maximum per room can accommodate up to 15 pax and is open for bookings with a min spending of RM500.

VIP Rooms 1-6 are separated by partitions that can be easily removed depending on the group size.

The view here is VIP Room No. 6 looking across all the way to VIP Room No. 1. Impressive huh?

Now let's take a look at the FOOOOOOOOOOD, what me and my family had.

By far my favourite to 2 dishes here is the BBQ Pork Stick (Moo Ping), filled with succulent and tender meat in every bite. It is very well marinated with a special sauce. It's priced at RM4 per stick.

Steamed fish with Spicy Lime RM 45
The sourish soup base makes it super appetising and superb when you have it hot and it goes well with your plain white rice. The fish meat is fresh. Highly recommended dish! Thumbs up!

Red Tom Yum RM 35
Am loving the Tom Yum here!

Deep Fried Calamari with Garlic RM 25

Deep Fried Chicken with Pandan Leaf RM 34
Another awesome dish not to be missed. I love the fact that the chicken is so well marinated and comes in a pretty big piece. And the aroma is just tantalizing.
Stir Fried Gai Lan RM 20 (Small)

Grilled Fish with Salt RM 50

Shrimp Tempura RM 30
And here comes the best part! Crabs!! The Crabs gravy here is done differently  from the usual Chinese restaurants.
(And in fact nothing like what I have tasted before)

We ordered the Crab in Black Pepper and Stir Fried Crab in Chilli. Each crab cost RM 100. Here they don't count by per kg but it's standard at RM100 per crab.

Stir Fried Crab in Chilli RM100

Black Pepper Crabs RM100

It was a very satisfying meal indeed! Burrrrpppp! Excuse me!
I had such a great time dining at the special VIP Room No. 9 and celebrating my Birthday with my family and girlfriends. The room was indeed an eye opener!

To satisfy your cravings for superb Thai Food, look no further!
And you know where to go if you wanna host a private party with your very own private room! The place is Baan Thai 2 Seafood & Thai Cuisine!
