Do the SWAP.

An afternoon of swapping, chatting and networking. This was the scene at Divine SS2 last Saturday where I attended my very first swapping event, thanks to Cindy Tan who shared this event with me.  I was all excited bringing in some of my clothes in exchange for some new pre-loved pieces. "The Swap Project hosted its third swap event and it just started barely 2 months" said Jayda Chong, one of the founders.
I was there to see its success and well accepted across women and (men) who also came and gave their support. I honestly feel this is a very noble project that these 2 young ladies have spearheaded.

At swapping event like these, you will discover a great way to have a wardrobe makeover without feeling the pinch.
As the saying goes "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Championing #textilesustainability are 2 young ladies who started The Swap Project, Jayda Chong (in floral pants) and Jamie Choy (in off shoulder top)

What is the Swap Project?
The Swap Project is started by 2 young ladies who are passionate about sustainability in a fashionable way. Textile is the world’s 2nd largest pollution in the world after oil. According to the Council for Textile Recycling, almost 70 pounds of clothing and other textiles are thrown away annually, and it is estimated that textile waste alone occupies nearly 5% of all landfill space. And in Malaysia 2,000 tons of textile waste was produced daily.
So instead of contributing to the landfill waste, these awesome ladies come up with a sustainable way to give these beautiful clothes a longer life span.

In Swap Project you get to drop off your unwanted clothes that fits the following criteria, and they will sort them out.

The best part is you get to pick any of the clothing that is available and it will be yours to own!
SWAP Guidelines
1. Bring minimum 5 pieces of clothes. (smart office wear, quality casual wear, pants, jeans, shorts, dresses, etc)

2. Only good quality and clean clothing

Here are some basic guidelines for those who are new to this and would like to join them for future swapping events.

Besides clothes, you can even bring your shoes, scarfs, belts, bags and jewelry for exchange. I am a sucker for blings. Naturally I was drawn to this pair of beautiful blings. It's so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes off them, but take only what you can put to good use. If you can't make good use of it, don't take it.

Some accessories contributed by others that you could swap.

Great sustainability efforts by the founders. A handful of beautiful clothes that are all still in great condition with plenty of variety to choose from. A great way to have a wardrobe makeover without feeling the pinch! Kudos to Jayda and Jamie for organizing such a great noble swap activity that promotes #textilesustainibility

Bring your old wearable clothes that are still in good condition to their swap event and exchange for some new attire for a brand new look! A great way to look different everyday!

Here I am doing my hunt and look what I found! Some really pretty skirts!

As you bring your clothes and register, a group of volunteers will help sort out based on sizes.

One rack will house the smaller sizes and another will house larger sizes. This is to make it easier for swappers to zoom in to the right sizes, faster! Some items will be placed on tables for you to scout through. A reminder to take only what you need. Do bring a sizable bag to put all your treasures. You'll never know when you need that extra space.
To help funding their swapping event, swappers can make a  contribution (any amount) to help fuel future projects.

What a great way to spend my Saturday for a wardrobe makeover with few new pieces I picked up from this swapping activity. I also made a few new friends.

The venue sponsor for this event was Divine Fusion Restaurant and Bar in SS2 (located just beside RHB Bank), a very strategic location for PJ folks. The swapping took place on their first floor. Downstairs the restaurant is done in exquisite taste with a huge painting making its presence felt.

The founders with Hazel of Divine.

A beautiful restaurant done in exquisite taste.

So, if you are all ready to join the next Swap activity, be sure to  stalk THE SWAP PROJECT's Facebook and Instagram for a clue to their next swapping event. Psssttt...I heard there will be one REAL soon!

I hope you can all help spread the word so that more swappers can take part. Do share girls and (boys) as sharing is caring!

My Genki Sushi Dining Experience

Ohaiyo Gozaimasu, Sushi Fans!
Genki Sushi swooshes its way to Sunway Pyramid with its launch last month and I finally satisfied my sushi cravings at Genki Sushi last week. Here, I would love to share with you my dining experiences at Genki Sushi and the ordering system here is truly an eye opener I must say.
They encourage you to BYOD - Bring Your Own Device. Device here can be your smartphones, Ipads...etc.
First, download a QR Reader.Order is done by scanning the below QR Code and it's super easy.
You will be taken to this page with your table number and next, with a push of a button you can start your order all within your control.

Everything is categorized nicely. So I just had to go into the category of food that I want and order away.
Firstly I picked the Dai Man Zoku Sushis.

Dai Man Zoku (大満足promises a larger than usual portion, averaging at about 1.5 times than the normal sushi size but at the usual price of sushi you would find elsewhere. Literally translated into “Big Satisfaction Menu”, Larger “Dai Man Zoku” Sushis offers a mouthful of experience, a maximum satisfaction with one bite! Priced at RM4.80 per piece.

Hooray to a bigger plate of sushi to satisfy my sushi cravings. I tried the Dai Man Zoku (大満足) Jumbo Crab Stick, Seared Red Shrimp with Garlic Butter and the Seared Prime Salmon Belly with Spicy Sauce.

Giant Sushi = Syiok Sekali!

Going crazy over a variety of giant sushis at Genki Sushi. I also ordered the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab (RM16.80) and a Deep Fried Chicken Rice Bowl (RM8.80) . Love both items as they are served hot and crispy.
What I also love about this place is that you get to make your own green tea with green tea powder. How authentic! Nope. No green tea, tea bags in sight.
2 small scoops is all you need.

I am also fascinated by the Kousoku Express Train that delivers fresh food straight to my table.

Freshly prepared sushis made its way to our table via The "Kousoku Express” train system. The "Kousoku Express” train system is designed after the Japanese Shinkasen bullet trains. It is swift and quiet and bids you "sayonara" once you have lifted the food off its train back. It's so intelligent!
A feast for the eyes and filling our tummies with super yummy sushi and a variety of other Japanese food. Here are some of the other variety of items I had besides sushi. Genki Sushi certainly has an extensive menu.

Steamed Egg Custard with Crab Meat (RM 4.80)
Takoyaki RM7.80
Mizu Manju with Matcha RM6.80
Haagen Daaz Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream RM10.80
Overall, the dining experience was amazing. The experience was super interesting, especially the very well organized ordering and delivery system. Genki Sushi officially open their doors last month on 18th November 2018. Have you been there yet? I hope you will also have an enjoyable experience as much as I do at Genki Sushi.

Lot LG1. 109 Lower Level One,
Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall.

A Beau-TEA-ful Story

Pssttt.....Let me tell you a Beau-TEA-Ful story.
Last week, 2 fairy godfathers appeared in front of me
and presented me with a box of goodies.
It was a gift from their precious little hearts.
Right Photo Credit: Illustration by Kristy Heilenday

They both have a round tummy that looks bouncy and a jolly, happy-go-lucky personality.

One of them, with beard so white and hair as white as snow,  Joyfully handed me this Caroma gift pack

and said "Ho! Ho! Ho!"

"Tis' The Season to be jolly,
For Santa I may not be,
Here is a gift full of flavour,
To warm your tummy"

And so they left me with this box full of Caroma goodies,
Filled with 3 types of different teas, and dashed off quickly and now I have with me, a box full of Caroma tea.

The flavours are as interesting as can us all see, In this gift box there is:
5 sachets of Caroma Bentong Ginger Tea
5 sachets of Coconut Bentong Ginger Tea
4 sachets of Matcha Latte
3 pieces of Caroma Sudu Sayang

I, was beyond happy as can be!

Yipee! Now let's to try out some Caroma tea.
After trying all three,
Let me share with you what's best for me.
My favourite has to be the Caroma Coconut Bentong Ginger,
A whiff and the coconut smells so much stronger.
With a light fragrant ginger, it's so pleasant and full of wonder.

As for mummy dearest,
She tried all three,
Her best option was the Caroma Matcha Latte Tea,
She said,
Not too sweet, just right and it's super nice!

I also tried the Caroma Matcha Latte and I find,
A milky green tea formula that is super smooth,
I felt like a cafe bartender.
It's so easy to prepare,
A beautiful cup of Matcha Latte.

As for the Bentong Ginger Tea,
Ini Ada Kick, Itu Pasti!
I find that this was a bit too strong for me.
Hence I love the Caroma Coconut Bentong Ginger better,
With a lighter presence with a tinge of Ginger.
The aromatic is so ginger flavorful,
Drinking all 3 gave me a mouthful,
And not forgetting a warm and happy tummy,
Thank you, Fairy Godfathers who visited me,
For this lovely Caroma gift pack,
And making my Chrismas one jolly heck!
