Shangri-La at The Fort Review

My trip to Manila was a smooth sailing one. Everything was well taken care of. From the time we landed, right till we checked in to the hotel at Shangri-La at The Fort
I am going to share my experience with you and will write about my stay at the hotel.

Upon arrival at the Manila Ninoy Aquino International airport, we walked straight to the  Shangri-La mini lounge area where their staff assist in making arrangements for my pre-booked transfers to the hotel.  It was a nice cosy area just across one street when we walked out from the arrival hall.
Mom getting cosy in here. The staff were friendly and attentive. We didn't wait for long. In less than 20 minutes, our car arrived. I tipped the two helpful staff and thus began my journey to the Shangri-La at The Fort

Once we arrived at the hotel entrance we were already greeted by a lady called Vanessa who escorted us up to our rooms directly. All was taken care of. I did not even need to line up to check in and get my room keys. The hotel was already expecting us. We felt like a VIP.

Here's a look at my hotel room for the next 3 days. It's pure luxury I must say. All the furnishings are done tastefully with  a nice blend of subtle gold, brown and neutral colours. It's soooo comfortable here.
I usually will check out the bathroom first whenever I step in to a hotel.
And wohoo there's a bathtub here! Yay! I can have a nice warm bath and soak! Luckily brought my Muji Bath Salt with me.
Looking out through my hotel window, this view greeted me. Yup! It was raining when I reached Manila.
Another place I wouldn't miss checking out is the hotel's swimming pool. As a person who loves to swim I usually wouldn't miss the chance to take a dip at the pool whenever I can.
Went up to the top floor and was told this area of the swimming pool is not open yet. Hence I only took photos and could not jump in. This pool is huge!
Netherless, I was not disappointed because I was told there was another swimming pool on another floor! This hotel certainly did not disappoint me! Show u the next pool shortly, but first let us take some selfies.

This is the other pool area on another floor which could be accessed through the gym called Kerry Sports.
Here's the main entrance of the gym
Fruit infused water in see through jars for guests to quench their thirst after a sporty affair.
The gym boasts two levels of fitness equipment and sporting facilities and houses an indoor basketball court (Yes, all within the gym area) I'm not kidding. See for yourself in the photo below.

I will now take you through some beautiful shots of the other pool area which is accessible via the gym. Voila! Welcome to the other swimming pool. This one is not as huge as the earlier one but the scenery is also pretty good.
What a beautiful spot to chill, relax and unwind. I can't wait to take a dive.

There is a nice shaded resting area like this.

And here comes the best part!!! I can't wait to share this with you. I discovered the SPA!
This is a Jacuzzi pool.
These 2 chairs are not your average chairs. It has a heating system and warms your body when you lay on it.
The Jacuzzi comes with these two metal lazy chairs that are half soaked in the water for you to relax. I have found my favourite spot! It's quiet and private.

The lighting is dim and super cosy. I can literally fall asleep here and half soaked in water.

There is also a steam room and a huge sauna room. One thing I noticed are the wooden headrest in the sauna room. You don't see a thing like this in the average spa or sauna elsewhere. It gels with the posture of your body when you lay and rest on these wooden sauna beds. Aaaaahhh this is life!
A cleverly designed shower room
There are ample lockers to keep your items safe. BTW this is the ladies' changing room.
A ready table with loads of gel, comb, cotton, lotion for you to prep up.

Let's move on to the food! My breakfast spread looked like this for the next 3 days at Shangri-la at The Fort.

Talk about choices. We were spoilt for choice. Mom and I get to enjoy their local kind of food. I tried the chocolate porridge and find it interesting. I love these cheese buns too. Initially I thought they looked too cheezy. One bite and I could not stop. The cheeze melts into my mouth almost instantly and the bread is so soft and tender.

It was truly a remarkable stay at Shangri-La at The Fort. The service was top-notch. If I could, I would rate it 6 stars. Every night they knock on our doors once to see if we need anything extra. The facilities were awesome and the food was abundant and yummy!
One last shot before we bid our farewell and headed to the airport.
So glad mom was with me and she too get to be pampered with the VVIP treatment at the hotel.
