Minori Japanese Restaurant

Recently, I was invited to Minori Japanese Restaurant located at the Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel (near e@Curve) to savour some of their new exciting dishes.
I was welcomed graciously by this beautiful lady, Dato' Jessie Yow who is the owner of Minori Japanese Restaurant. I simply can't take my eyes off her!
She has such a warm personality, so poised and so full of charm and elegance.

Welcoming me together with Dato' Jessie is an old friend, Mr Nordin Abdullah.
Stepping in for the first time to this exquisite Japanese restaurant, I was truly amazed its splendid interior. Before I move on to the mouth watering food, allow me to take you on a virtual tour on Minori's ambience.

Classy simplistic design

A touch of warmth with luxurious leather sofas with soothing-to-the-eyes lighting.
Cosy and romantic. Great for romantic dates too! *wink *wink
Attentive staff forever standing by to assist us with our orders.

A welcome speech by Dato' Jessie welcoming the guests. We were introduced to the different sake served at Minori and we got to try them all! Hic! Hic! Hooray!
Let's hope I don't get drunk after this.

I have a confession to make.
This is my first time drinking sake. I love the sweet aromatic taste that lingers in my mouth. But I gotta be careful not to drink too much on an empty stomach. I take little sips and realized later that this sake goes well with some of the dishes served.
 Jom makan!
 Itadakimasu!
The soul of traditional Japan served in style by Minori.
Here's a glimpse of what I had.

For appetizer, we were presented with this beautiful dish. I love how the food is styled.
Yum Tofu and Grilled Seasoning Eggplant with Crab Sauce Ginger Fervor with Mountain Kaviar. It is rather refreshing dish. Just the right taste that goes around my mouth. Smooth and silky textured sauce that I love.
Next we tried the Steamed Egg on the Organic Wasabi Leaf and Asari Shell "Ohitashi" Yuzu Orange Flavour. The soup is sweet. This is my first time eating Wasabi Leaves. But don't worry it does not burn nor it's spicy. It taste just like vegetable.

Next we tried the grilled White Miso Marinated Butter Fish "Saikyo Yaki" served with Vinegar Tomato, Wasabi Lotus roots with Sweet Potato. I love the fish meat. It's solid and very fresh. Combined with the Vinegar Tomato, Wasabi Lotus roots with Sweet Potato this makes a very appetizing dish. I had small sips of sake and it compliments this dish so well.

Tender steamed Beef Tongue with Special sauce.
The meat is tender and soft. Marinated in a special sauce till perfection!

Scallop Porridge Minori Style Fried Cherry Blossom Prawn.
This was among one of my favourite. All the items blend in well for a great serving of luxurious porridge.

And ehere comes the best part! Everybody loves dessert.
For dessert we had the Warabi Mochi and Green Tea Parfait
The green tea ice cream melts in my mouth. The mochi and some cubes of red beans compliment this dessert so well. Mr Nordin posing with his very own dessert cup. Yummy!

Executive Chef of Minori Japanese Restaurant, Mr. Takahiro Ishida
can really cook up a storm of tantalizing dishes.

Set lunches are also available.
