Celebrating 70 years of crackin' good time with PAGODA

PAGODA  has been tantalizing Malaysian taste buds with its crunchy and aromatic Menglembu groundnuts and premium nuts. Its iconic Pagoda logo springs to mind when we crave for a little something to munch on as we enjoy our favourite TV shows or during parties and social get-together.

This year, PAGODA celebrated its 70th anniversary with a gala dinner at Weil Hotel, Ipoh
The anniversary was attended by some 400 guests, including its top management, employees, business associates and local dignitaries.
Guests were seen admiring and reading on PAGODA's history and milestone of achievements throughout the years.
There were props ready for fun pictures.
Guests were also seen posing with the cute PAGODA backdrop with nuts forming the flower motifs.

And here are some of my crazy poses having fun with the props

Guests did not leave empty handed. For remembrance, they each receive photo prints to remember the night.

Let the Celebration Begin!

Guests were entertained by a host of programmes, such as a lively and vigorous cheerleading opening gambit by Titans Junior from SMJK Ave Maria Convent, Ipoh, which won the first runner in the All-Girls Junior Category of Cheer 2015.

They are indeed a marvellous and energetic bunch

Esther Yap, Malaysia's first and only sand animation artist also took the stage to mesmerise the guests with her awe-inspiring sand art animation that tells the story of Pagoda's milestone and achievements. It was truly an eye opener.
Esther in action. Such great talent!

Guests were also serenaded by a live band performance throughout the evening.
In conjunction with the momentous occasion, PAGODA management also presented long-service awards to nine employees who have been with PAGODA for more than 20 years. The awards serve as a recognition of their long-term commitment and dedication to the company.
"PAGODA believes in enriching life everywhere with the fun and joy of wholesome snacking. That's why PAGODA groundnuts are baked using heat but not oil. Free from preservatives, artificial colourings and flavourings, PAGODA groundnuts do not contain cholesterol and trans fat. They're simply good-tasting, guilt-free snack you can truly enjoy to your heart's content!" said Mr. Liew Yu Gene, CEO of Pagoda Foods (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
In fact, according to various research findings, groundnuts are naturally free from cholesterol and trans fat. Not only are groundnut rich in fibre, they also contain beneficial monounsaturated fats that help lower bad cholesterol (LDL). Groundnuts are a good source of folic acid, niacin (Vitamin B3), magnesium, phosphorus and manganese too.
For the next five years, PAGODA aims to be a leading brand synonymous with fun, tasty and healthy snacks, not just in groundnut category alone. To do so, PAGODA has since 2009 embarked on product diversification with intensive R&D and product development, extending its product range to non-shell segment by offering shelled peanuts, cashew nuts, almond, pistachios, etc.

Part of its 5-year plan includes rejuvenating PAGODA as a vibrant and fun brand with an all-new image to capture the heart of teenagers and young adults. The rebranding initiative has taken place in the last quarter of 2015 with a fresh-looking website and eye-catching visual merchandising.

Guests were also treated to an after party at The Deck Gastro Bar at the Rooftop of WEIL Hotel.

Overall, it was a grand NUTTY AFFAIR and I had so much fun!
Here's wishing you a Happy 70th Anniversary Celebration and may you soar to greater heights, PAGODA.

About PAGODA
Pagoda, is the brainchild of Liew Kee Yin, the founder of Thong Thye Groundnut Factory Sdn Bhd, now aptly known as Pagoda Foods (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. It grew from a small factory converted from a rubber smokehouse in Sungai Siput, Perak. The late Mr. Liew envisioned his enterprise to possess strength and tenacity which enable it to withstand the test of time―just like the 19th century pagoda in his birthplace Hopoh in Guangdong, China. Today, PAGODA has become a renowned Malaysian brand offering a wide range of nut products and has also ventured into overseas markets.
