The Markets @ Jaya One (9-10 August 2014)

Just came back from a 6 hour visit to The Markets at Jaya One.
For those who have missed it, I have some of my awesome pictures and happenings for the day to share with you. I went there as early as 10.30am, but most stall were only ready and open by 11am. Hence I walked around.

These beautiful looking plate drawings are by secondary school students and was on display in collaboration with IACT College
The friendly people of IACT college explained the campaign details to me and I took a stroll to admire all these artwork by the talented students of our Malaysian secondary schools.

Wish I could draw like them.

Some other creative artwork on display

First stop, the MY REDKEN STYLING roadshow. I was number 6.
It didn't take too long before it was my turn.
Here I was getting my hair styled by this leng chai, Hermann of Atmosphere Hair Saloon  and part of the Redken Professional team for the day.
I had such a bad hair day this morning. Thank goodness for Redken team who saved my day!

REDKEN products on display. Professionals were there to advise on suitable haircare products for each individual. There was even a 30% off for selected Redken products.
Picture time with Redken's Brand Manager, Romeo Joss. Ain't he a cutie.
Redken Malaysia also sponsored some goodies for individuals who participated in the  MYREDKENSTYLING Campaign. No one goes home empty handed. We also had our picture taken at the photobooth.

More REDKEN photobooth pictures can be seen here

Next, I made a pit stop at Uplift Malaysia's Booth Area to donate RM5.00 and some bras for the needy  in Nepal, an effort by Uplift Malaysia. Such noble deeds.

To show my support, I also brought some items for swapping.
Here are some of the pool of items for swapping. Such eco friendly efforts.
Kudos to Uplift Malaysia and volunteers for the day!
From clothes to books and bags and some other accessories.

Vera and I posing with some donated bras
All bras were checked to make sure it is in wearable conditions before it's being accepted.
Now baru after finishing all the other "activities" I can now make my rounds inside Jaya One (The School) Area.

Some items on sale which are so reasonably priced.

Look at all these beautiful bling bags.
Besides the usual accessories, items on sale were these cute toys. It's a pretty good mix.

Unique tattoo designs were also on sale there

Vintage stamp pads

I quickly made my way to one of my most anticipated stall, Deeper Than Fashion
The brand owner is gorgeous Harmini Asokumar of Deeper Than Fashion.
I love her designs so much, especially the rainbow designs Dream Catcher.
Check out her other designs at http://deeperthanfashionmy.com/
Such a talented young lady and everything here is handmade and hand painted.
This is one of my favourite piece. I love them both actually.
And I just can't take my eyes off the rainbow feather.
Here's a glimpse of her items on sale at her booth.
Love these petite ones too! Salute her! Not easy to make such tiny pieces!
This goes so well with my fushia pink baju

Hungry?
Fear not, there were tons of food items on sale there! And everything looks so yummy.

From Belguim Waffles with interesting flavours to crunchy Nutella cookies.
Ling was so kind enough to offer us a trial of her quiche
 Melt in your mouth Brownies
 And yummiy-licios cakes!

Check out the cupcakes on display. My mouth watering already.
So much goodies.

MY INTERESTING FINDS
Continued with my shopping and spotted these cute kitty coin purses at RM10 each.
Book of earrings. Hmmm..never seen anything like that before.
What a neat way to store all your earrings. Selling at only RM25 (minus all the earrings lah)

Spotted : A Sesame Street ALMO  hairband
And lastly, sighted this shop called Oldees that sells Kimonos.
Yes, I'm crazy over Kimonos and I bought myself one.
It was a well spent Sunday.
This was my first visit to The Markets and I must say I truly enjoyed the Markets, the variety of vendors selling just about everything.
The best part is, I never go hungry while shopping with all these food vendors.
Can't wait for Round 2.
